About the UK Black Comms Network (UK BCN)
The UK Black Comms Network exists to increase the number and seniority of Black professionals in the UK PR industry. We believe that providing peer to peer networking and professional development opportunities and using our convening power to highlight issues and enact change will be the difference our industry needs to ensure Black comms professionals not only remain but thrive in the comms industry. Since launching a year ago we have amassed more than 150 members across all levels of experience with new members joining us everyday. We have a dedicated social media following and both our linked in and twitter pages have more than 1k followers.
About the role
Position: P/T Community Manager
Location: Flexible | Remote
Start date: October 2021
Salary: £17/hr
Hours: 16-20 hours/month
Opportunity:
UK BCN is growing and we are looking for a part-time Community Manager to lead on member comms & engagement across email marketing, social media and events. This role is the first of its kind for UK BCN and yours to shape it and make yours! This would suit someone who already works in marketing or comms and is looking for an opportunity to build relationships with our community.
Key responsibilities:
Managing and engaging with members on UK BCN Guild space
Managing the Member hub & database
Curating members’ career moves and achievements to inform monthly email and weekly social content
Engaging members around key happenings, activities and events
Experience & Attributes
Efficiently manages workload
Efficiently manages projects within set timelines
Strong, creative writer
Excellent organisational skills
Attention to detail, critical-thinker and problem-solver
Knowledge of Squarespace (preferred but not essential)
